The Museum
of Modern Art’s guides for educators explore
modern and contemporary art through the Museum’s rich collection.
The guides are informed by issues posed by the selected works in
a variety of media, but its organization and lesson topics are
tailored to school curriculum, with particular application to social
studies, visual art, history, and language arts. Lessons are accompanied
by writing, research, and hands-on, art-based activities that encourage
students to make connections between the visual arts and other
disciplines. The guides model how images and historical information
can be integrated into numerous subject areas and skill bases taught
in the classroom.
Teacher Resources at MoMA provide educational
resources for K–12
teachers in all subject areas. Educator guides with CD-ROMs
